Today I wanna talk to you about tech Neck syndrome. So what is Tech Neck syndrome? Essentially, it’s the habit of having our head and neck in a downward or otherwise known as flex position. And this is typically while we are texting, or it could be viewing any kind of tablet or a phone. And this is very common amongst many individuals in society today, including younger kids.

The reason why that’s not good is because the neck is designed to be in this upright and arced position to be stable and healthy. However, when your head is down, it’s causing the joints. To be flexed, causing strain and sprain to the joints of the neck and all the muscles. What are the short term consequences of tech Neck syndrome?

Well, that can include tight muscles of the neck, neck pain, and even headaches and migraines. The long-term consequences can include sustained chronic symptoms of headaches and migraines and neck pain, tightness, but it can also cause degenerative disc and joint disease of the cervical spine, uh, which is not great to deal with.

So next time you’re texting or viewing your tablet or phone, try to get that device or the book a lot higher, closer to eye level. You can also use a chair with armrests that will prop your elbows up so they’re not so tired. I hope this was helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Have a great day.
