Hey everyone, I want to show you a lower
back stretch called the hip crossover
that I think is really effective and
gentle and it’s just something I
recommend everyone do if you have lower
back issues. So, you want to find a
space on the floor somewhere firm but
also soft. I’ve got a yoga mat behind
me, so if you have one of those at home,
feel free to get that out. Okay,
so you want to start by laying on your
back here.
And the key thing is you’re going to
have your heels on the floor but your
toes pointed towards the ceiling. Okay.
From here, you’ll have your hands out to
the side.
Keeping your heels anchored to the
floor. You’re going to rotate knees as
one unit to the left. Going as far as
you can go, making contact with the
floor if you can. Holding for one second
and going to the other side.
Keep in mind to keep your heels anchored
to the floor, at least one of them. And
the key is to continue to go through
this motion. And you’re going to feel a
stretch on the side of your lower back
that is opposite to where your knees are
pointing.
This is what it looks like from the side
view.
Okay, that’s the hip crossover. Give
that a try. Let me know if you have any
questions.
